The Life Force Story - The Love of a Man for his Wife

It is not hard to see today that Life Force, and its mainstay product Body Balance, is destined to become a household name. Back in the early eighties, however, things were different. It took a significant vision to see twenty years into the future, realizing that high impact Liquid Nutritionals were the future industry.

Like most great things in life, Body Balance was not created or designed as a business or financial venture. It was created out of necessity. There did not seem to be a solution to a serious problem that Life Force founders Wayne and Gerri Hillman were having in their life at that time.

You wouldn't think it if you met her today, but back in the eighties as a young woman, Gerri Hillman had serious health challenges. After seeing doctor after doctor, there seemed to be no solution. Gerri was just going to have to live this way for the rest of her life.

This did not seem logical or practical to Wayne Hillman, and he went on a mission to find or create a solution for this problem. At that point, Gerri had three small children and nothing seemed to relieve her health challenges.

This is how and why Body Balance was created over two decades ago. After Gerri’s positive experience they developed a strong desire to share this amazing product with as many people as they could.

Wayne and Gerri really knew they were onto something when thousands of health care professionals began recommending Body Balance to their patients and customers. This validated their strong belief and was the foundation for starting Life Force International in 1996.

Life Force International is now a multi-continent business with a state of the art manufacturing facility distributing Body Balance and other Life Force products across the globe. Today, a world-class management team is in place as the beginning of your future with Life Force.

Ours is comprised of dynamic professionals who are top experts in the nutritional field and with affiliations and board memberships on some of the leading food and nutritional organizations in the world - including the International Aloe Science Council, National Nutritional Foods Association, Institute of Food Technologists, and the American Society of Nutritional Sciences. Led by Dr. William Saccoman, M.D., a pioneer in the nutritional and health food industry, product quality and integrity is given a number one priority at Life Force.

W. Saccoman, Life Force Nutrition CouncilDr. William J. Saccoman, chairman of the Life Force Nutrition Council has been associated with Life Force International for over a decade. He is a board-certified family practitioner and a leading expert in nutritional alternatives to conventional health care. He received his degree from Loma Linda Medical School and is a Charter Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice, Vitamin, Mineral and Nutritional Therapy.

Dr. Saccoman worked with famed nutritionist, Dr. Linus Pauling conducting research on Vitamin C. He is also president of the San Diego Clinic of Preventative Medicine and our own Co-chairman of the Medical Advisory Board.

Dr. Saccoman is the chief formulator for the Life Force Products, Dream Away and OsteoProCare. He also helped to formulate Sunbright and Sunset.

Wayne and Gerri Hillman, founders, CEO

Wayne and Gerri Hillman, founders of Life ForceThroughout their lives together Wayne and Gerri Hillman shared a dream. They had often dreamt of being able to do something during their lives to leave a mark, to make a difference. When Body Balance came into Gerri's life and she had such a positive response to it, they looked upon this as their opportunity to make that dream come true.

With their strong belief in this product and their desire to share it with others, they began promoting Body Balance through the medical arena through a company they called Doctor's Signature. For many years it was sold exclusively through health care providers. In January of 1995 they decided to make their products available to the general public through a referral marketing program, and Life Force International was born.

They believe Life Force offers a tremendous opportunity for anyone to change their life - physically by using the unique products that Life Force offers, and financially by sharing the products and business opportunity with others and building a lucrative business that provides a residual income. Life Force is truly a company formed to "Empower Human Potential", and that is the mission statement they have chosen.

Ron Hillman, COO

Ron Hillman, COO of Life Force InternationalRon Hillman joined Life Force International on a full time basis in 1996 following a 14 year career in operational management with a Fortune 500 company in the communications industry. During that career he accelerated his skills in leadership, business management, and operations, while earning numerous training awards and certifications such as Total Quality Management, Managing Process Improvement, Organizational Integration & Structure, and more.

Ron’s history with Life Force International began during the early days of Doctor’s Signature, Life Force’s parent company. At that time he worked with his family on a part time basis to assist in the development of product manufacturing, quality control systems, distribution, and general operations. Ron’s extensive background in operational management now tops 25 years. During this time he has proven to be an effective strategist, leader, and visionary.

As President and Chief Operations Officer for Life Force International, Ron supports a dynamic organization that has seen 500% growth in a handful of years. His foresight and focus on infrastructure will enable Life Force to manufacture, deliver, and support our development of a billion dollar annual sales organization.

 

Marjorie Lynn, Co-Founder, Vice-Chairman of the Board

Marjorie Lynn, Vice_Chairman of Life Force InternationalMarjorie Lynn graduated from college in 1989 with a degree in accounting and business administration. While still attending college, she began helping her parents Wayne and Gerri Hillman with their newly forming company Doctor’s Signature. Working with them, and using her knowledge in accounting and business administration, she became a valuable tool in bringing about the success of Life Force’s parent company, Doctor’s Signature. As Doctor’s Signature evolved into Life Force International in 1996, she quickly utilized these skills and adapted them to the referral marketing arena.

Over the years, Marjorie has been involved with virtually every aspect of the business and now concentrates her efforts in the area of finance. She uses her intricate knowledge of the compensation plan to assure that our members have the best of opportunities to build a secure and lasting future.

 

Iain Bratt, Executive VP

Iain Bratt, CFO of Life Force InternationalIain Bratt joined Life Force International in 1999 after spending more than 10 years as Director of Finance for Nature Sunshine Products, Europe. He also represented Nature Sunshine for both the United Kingdom and Irish Direct Selling Associations.

Iain’s finance career began as an articled trainee accountant in a branch of the British chain of Certified Accountants. His studies and qualifications have earned him a fellowship with a London Accounting Association. His past experience gives him extensive knowledge in international legalities and procedures.

As Chief Financial Officer for Life Force, Iain’s duties and responsibilities are extensive and include overseeing and directing treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, long range forecasting, and insurance activities. His vast knowledge of the MLM industry and all of its intricacies are invaluable to the growth and success of Life Force International.

 

Kathy Meadows, Vice-President of Human Resources

Kathy Meadows, VP of HR Life Force InternationalKathy Meadows joined Life Force International in 1997 after a 12-year career in the legal field, during which time she gained extensive knowledge in many areas of law including business law.

Upon joining Life Force International, Kathy dedicated her time to learning the inter-workings of the company, its products, and compensations plan, along with OSHA Compliance, workplace safety, labor law compliance, and human resource management techniques and practices.

As Vice President of Human Resources, Kathy now works directly with the employees focusing her efforts on maintaining the company benefits packages such as 401k, medical and dental, and all Human Resource matters.

 

Joe Miller, Vice-President of Technology

Joe Miller technology at Life Force Joe Miller joined Life Force International in 2005 bringing with him more than 16 years experience in the Information Technology industry. During his industry tenure he has worked in management roles for BP Oil, Microsoft, HBO, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Motorola, Iridium, Bank of America and several other leading companies focusing on technical platforms and delivery. He also has several years experience in the network marketing field where he has worked as the Director of Applications & Development and CIO/VP of Technology for three other network marketing companies.

Throughout his career, Joe has earned many degrees and certifications including Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, Associate of Occupational Studies, CIS Management, Six Sigma Certified, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Professional and Compaq Accredited Systems Engineer. He has college courseware in Project Leadership, Management, Communication, Information Technology Project Management, Scheduling and Cost Control, and Risk Management.

Joe’s responsibilities with Life Force International are extensive as he is intricately involved and responsible for all aspects of the Life Force International IT department.

 

 David Raphael, Managing Director of Life Force Australasia

David Raphael Life Force Australia New Zealand AsiaDavid Raphael joined Life Force International in 2001 and brought with him more than 20 years experience in the network marketing industry. He has served in general management roles with Usana and Enrich and other senior executive roles in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

David has a very successful track record in opening up new markets and building thriving organizations from the grass roots level. He is very familiar with many of the Asia Pacific markets, having had significant hands-on experience in business development activities throughout the region as a direct result of living and working in Asia. This combines with a deep appreciation of the different cultures and business practices necessary to accelerate business growth.

David is responsible for administering and leading the sales effort in Australia and New Zealand, which includes coordinating motivational local training events, and localizing the Australasian market to mirror the very unique facilities at the home office in the United States.

 

Jon Shulin, Vice-President of Customer Relations

Jon Shulin, Life Force Customer ServiceJon Shulin joined Life Force International in 2004 bringing with him 8 years of corporate leadership experience in our industry, encompassing many different facets of customer service and marketing.

In his previous $20 million per month company, Jon not only solely managed the customer service team and all of its intricacies, but also the company’s Telecommunication and Facilities Department.

Jon’s many responsibilities at Life Force International include working closely with all customer service representatives to improve call efficiency, and employee product knowledge and training. He also works closely with the customer service team on promotional programs and supports, reviews, and helps with all facets of the weekly and monthly commission runs. Jon interacts regularly with the executive team and department heads to ensure that the company’s operational priorities are aligned with total company direction.

 

Ken O'Conner, Chief Science Officer

Ken O'Conner Cheif Scientist, Life Force product linePrior to joining Life Force International in 2005 as Chief Science Officer, Ken O’Connor acquired 20 years experience in microbiology, food science, chemistry, quality manufacturing, product development, regulatory affairs and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). He is an IMS trained and state licensed microbiologist, holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology/Terrestrial Zoology from California State University, Long Beach, and holds a HACCP certification from ASI Food Safety Consultant, Inc.

Ken’s lab career culminated at the internationally accredited Silliker Laboratories as the Operational Manager of Chemistry. During this time he provided valuable analytical services and consultations to many of the largest food and supplement manufacturers in the United States. He was also a three-time award winner in Total Quality Management for Silliker Labs nationwide.

One of Ken’s many contributions to Life Force International is to continue the development of state of the art processes and manufacturing enhancements required in producing the highest quality products, which are scientifically formulated to meet their intended purpose.

 

Sonja T. Sladic, CTO, VP of Manufacturing

Sonja T. Sladic became a welcome addition to Life Force International’s Food Science Department in 2004. She is an industry professional with over 20 years of experience in the Food and Health Food Industries. During these years, she provided great technical and educational support for various food and health food manufacturers. Her knowledge in food science and nutrition, combined with her background in pharmaceuticals and analytical/processing engineering helped her to accomplish many vital projects for various companies.

Sonja was born and raised in Croatia, Europe. Her research theses were Correct Nutrition for Pre-School Children (1984) for the Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition, and Viscosity of Rehydrated Infant Foods (1990) for the Dept. of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb. In 1996 Sonja received state licensing for IMS Microbiologist, by the FDA in Sacramento, CA, and ASI HACCP Certification in 2002.

Sonja has previously served on the NNFA Educational Committee. She was Chief Technical-Science Officer for Designing Health, Senior Vice President of Excelline Foods and has worked on projects of well-known American giants such as Health Valley Foods, Hain Celestial Group, and Amway. Sonja also did product formulation for various health food markets, weight loss companies, and popular coffee shops. As a scientist, and Food Processing Technology Engineer, Sonja participated in radio shows in the USA and Canada on topics regarding the Importance of Balanced and Correct Nutrition, Weight Loss, Diabetic and Children’s Nutrition.

As Vice President of Manufacturing/CTO, Sonja’s current primary duties are overseeing manufacturing operations and quality control departments. She has set up in-house laboratories and trains her staff in new microbiological testing methods. Other important aspects of Sonja’s job include improving company processes and increasing efficiency, and developing information for handling the technical support that health industry and regulatory agencies demand. Sonja works closely with international partners to ensure compliance with labeling regulations.

Sonja’s mission statement is:

Krystina Feucht, Sales and Marketing Manager

Krystina Feucht, sales and marketing at Life ForceHaving had more than 10 years experience working in the nutritional network marketing industry, Krystina joined Life Force International in 1998. Prior to that her accomplishments include being a member of the American Marketing Association, a five-year member of the National Dean’s List, a member of the elite Golden Key International Honor Society, and a graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s in Marketing.

Since joining Life Force International, Krystina has worked in many departments including Customer Service, Finance, and Compliance. During time spent in Compliance, she gained valuable information about FDA and FTC regulations in relation to marketing materials. Using that knowledge, she was able to enforce the integrity of Life Force and enhance the relationship between Life Force and its members.

Krystina’s current responsibilities as Marketing Manager include the Life Line quarterly magazine, eFlash, product promotions, bonus and commission enhancements, Platinum Academy and other trainings, and participates in developing company literature.
